2. Draft policy text (placeholders OPEN)

2.1 Cancelling. You can cancel at any time from the billing page or the customer portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for. Until then everything works as before. After that your account moves to the Free plan: your published translations keep working on your site, you can still sign in and export everything, but you cannot translate new text, add languages or publish updates. OPEN: whether cancelling stops the paid word allowance immediately or at term end; how soon a cancellation request must be made before renewal.

2.2 Annual plans. Billed up front. Refund: [OPEN: choices below].

  • Option A: no refunds after purchase except where the law requires.
  • Option B: full refund within [N] days of the first purchase or first renewal if you ask and have used under [N] words.
  • Option C: pro-rata refund on cancellation within the year (not recommended: needs proration logic that does not exist).

2.3 Monthly plans. Billed monthly; no refunds for the current month; cancel before the next renewal date. OPEN.

2.4 Renewals. Annual plans renew automatically unless cancelled. Reminder e-mail before renewal: [OPEN: there is no renewal-reminder template today; WP-34 ships verification, reset, invoice, quota, publish-failed, trial-ending, trial-ended, team-invitation and collaboration invitation].

2.5 Failed payments. We retry per the provider's schedule [OPEN: Stripe dunning settings]. If unpaid, 14 days of grace after the term end, then lapse as above.

2.6 Downgrades. Effective at the end of the paid term; no refund for the difference [OPEN].

2.7 Shopify. Shopify bills you; its rules govern subscriptions, charges and refunds; we cannot refund Shopify charges ourselves [verify with Shopify partner terms].

2.8 WordPress licence keys. Cancelling stops renewal; the plugin keeps working on your site and your translations remain; updates and new translation stop after the term and grace. Security updates may still be delivered to lapsed (not revoked) sites (default).

2.9 Disputes and chargebacks. Please contact us first. OPEN: whether we suspend while a dispute is open (dispute handling policy is an open launch item).

2.10 Statutory rights. Nothing here limits mandatory consumer rights [OPEN: whether any consumers can buy; EU/UK 14-day withdrawal for digital services and the rules on waiving it when service starts immediately: verify].

2.11 Currency and tax. Prices in USD [OPEN]; taxes added where required [OPEN].
