Publish your first translation
On this page
Translation happens in four steps: find the text, translate it, check it, publish it.
1. Find the text (scan)#
ResilientLang needs to know which text is on your site. The WordPress plugin and the Shopify app do this for you. For other sites, the API or the command line starts a scan of the pages or the sitemap you give. See The command-line tool.
A button to start a scan from the dashboard is not built yet: OPEN. The site page's checklist tells you which step comes next.
2. Translate#
Machine translation fills in every string that has no translation yet. It never replaces a translation that a person wrote or reviewed. The editor can start it again for chosen rows. See Bulk actions.
3. Check#
Open Editor and read the strings that matter most: headlines, buttons, prices, legal text. Edit what is wrong. Anything you edit by hand is marked as manual and is kept.
4. Publish#
On the site page, choose Publish now. The button stays disabled, with an explanation, until something has been translated. If you force it anyway, the server refuses. The dashboard builds signed files and sends them to every delivery target. It writes the manifest last, so visitors never see a half-published set.
Publishing runs in the background. The page shows the job state. The site list shows Live with a version number when everything arrived, Partly updated when a target failed, and Not published before the first publish.
Publishing again after a double click does not make two versions. It is safe to repeat.
Automatic publishing#
Publishing right after each translation run is off by default. The owner approved that on 2026-10-28 (decision D49); it is meant to become a setting.
Check the result#
Open your site in a private window and pick a language. If the page stays in the source language, go to My page is not translating.
