Pricing questions and how billing works

This page holds the answers that used to sit at the bottom of the pricing page. The plans and prices are on the pricing page and in Plans and the AI-word allowance.

How signing up and paying work#

  1. Sign up with your email. No card and no password yet.
  2. Confirm your email from the link we send, and choose your password.
  3. Start on the Free plan or a trial. No card is needed for either.
  4. Choose a plan under Billing in your dashboard when you are ready. Only the account owner can do this. Nothing is charged before you choose.

The "Sign up for" buttons on the pricing page only record which plan you looked at. Shopify plans are for the Shopify app, which is not listed yet. See The billing page.

Do I pay per word or per page view?#

No. Plans are flat per-site licences with a generous number of AI words included. There is no page-view billing and no automatic upgrade when you pass an allowance.

What happens when I use all my included words?#

Nothing breaks and you are never moved to a higher plan on your own. You get a clear message and a choice. You can buy an extra-words pack, or connect your own translation-provider key and pay your provider directly. Extra words on the included engine cost $10 per 500,000. Premium-engine words (DeepL, AI language models) cost $24 per 100,000. See Word packs and your own provider keys.

What happens to my translated pages if I stop paying?#

Translations that were already published stay available after a lapse, and you can export everything at any time. The length of the grace period is set in the terms. See Cancel and lapse.

Can I pay monthly instead of yearly?#

Yes. The monthly option for WordPress and script sites costs a little more over a year than the annual price. The toggle on the pricing page shows both. Shopify plans are billed monthly, and the annual option gives two months free.

Is there a free plan?#

Yes: one site and one extra language with a small number of included words, so you can see the result on your own pages before you pay.

Which plan is for agencies?#

Agency covers unlimited sites and languages and adds a white-label dashboard and team seats. Business adds a dedicated storage bucket and domain and a service-level agreement. It is quoted per customer.

Are prices in US dollars? Do they include tax?#

Prices are in US dollars. Sales tax or VAT may be added at checkout depending on where you are. Tax handling is still OPEN until the payment set-up is final.
